LibrationS

A work in progress, with its premiere planned for 2027.
In Librations, two aerial acrobats, one musician, and one singer aims to create a work that blends circus and musical performance. The title refers to the subtle oscillations of celestial bodies. The stage includes suspended rocks: some used as aerial devices for the circus artist, others used as monochord instruments that create tension in amplified bass strings with deep resonance. The work is structured around different songs, each reflecting a facet of the infinite universe.

This work has taken different forms, including a solo performance with suspended monochords and hydrophone, presented at the Kaisaniemi Botanical Garden in Helsinki (FI) during the Art for All Festival (26.8.2022).
Performed by Kollectiv Totem
Premiered at Aula in der NMS, Bern (CH) (11.5. 2019)

The work employs the same instrument (electric monochords) originally built for Le Refuge des Cordes
